I just heard that using products that contain vinyl during pregnancy could be harmful.this is the first time I heard something like this, and I just purchased a clear vinyl table cloth that i would like to use. my question is, did anyone else hear about this and how true is it.thanksAre clear vinyl tablecloths harmful?
Vinyl in itself is not harmful as it's fairly inert. The problem is that some vinyl products have lead in the vinyl. These are usually things like vinyl-coated window blinds, things that are exposed to sunlight and need a chemical like lead to stabilyze them from ultraviolet degradation.
A clear vinyl tablecloth should be fine. If you're really worried about this, there are home lead test kits you can get. You swab down the item you suspect, and if the swab turns color, it contains lead.Are clear vinyl tablecloths harmful?
