I want to buy clear vinyl floor covering which i can put on carpet that i recently had professional cleaned?

I want to sell my house and the carpet was very dirty, so one of my relatives referred me to a professional carpet cleaner which he had before clean his house and he really liked his work. So my relative referred me to this carpet cleaner, and he cleaned the carpet very well. Now that the carpet was clean, i decided to buy some type of see through roll sheets which i put on the floor, but this type is supposed to be ont he carpet only for about 40 days, soon i have to take it off. I don't want to get my carpet dirty, so i went to walmart because i heard from another relative that you can just buy these type of see through vinyl rolls, i went there and checked it out, they don't have enough to cover my first floor and its expensive, i was wondering if anybody would know where i could purchase just SEE through vinyl rolls which i intend people to walk on ALOT, as i have a big familyI want to buy clear vinyl floor covering which i can put on carpet that i recently had professional cleaned?
As a professional carpet cleaner, I would say that it is not recommened to put plastic over you carpet...your carpets are like any other fabric and they need to breath. Not to mention that those plastics are bad stuff...most emit a horrible spell that is actually bad for you.





If you are just trying to keep your carpets clean, then I would personally and professionally say 1 dont let anyone wear shoes in the house...have a mat outside or by the door and MAKE everyone take shoes off 2. vaccuum at least once per day with a good vacuum. 4. put small rugs out at areas where you come off of other types of flooring ex. if you kitchen is tile, and you walk off of that into your living room, then place a small rug there...it catches a lot and 5. dont allow any food or drink on the carpet areas but if your dining areas is carpeted, then get a cheap areas rug to put ontop of the carpet. make sure it is soft on the bottom of the rug because the hard backed ones can damage your carpet.





We also suggest getting your carpets cleaned professionally at least every year... to remove any build up, dust mites and allergins. A clean carpet will last longer. If I was doing a walk through of your house...looking to buy, I wouldn't want to see the carpet covered up by vinyl sheets. It just looks like you are hiding something. If you put these down for everyday use, make sure they are removed for showing.
you can go to walmart or Target and vinyl runner to put down on your floor.
How about this: Have everyone take their shoes off before coming in the house. Problem solved.
If you have FRED'S, they have it really cheap. Also, Check with a FABRIC or SEWING store that carries upholstery fabric or coverings. Sometimes they have clear vinyl, sold by the yard just as fabric, used to make upholstery covers. Actually bigger than a simple runner. So, depending on how much you need, this may be your source to try.
You can try a hardware store or Home Depot but it will probably compare in price to Wal-Mart.





You can ask if they can get you something that's thinner and less costly.





The Muse
Most stores like Walmart, Meijer, Kmart sell clear floor runners that are made of a heavy duty rubber. These are picky on the bottom to prevent slipping. From the sounds of things, you are looking for something clear that will cover the whole floor and not just the high traffic areas. Most people just cover the high traffic areas. Otherwise, my suggestion is to get floor runners that are like pieces of carpet. These can also be purchased from the above mentioned stores or your local carpet store may have scraps you can use.
